Wuthering Waves is a swap-heavy action combat game. Damage comes from Attribute multipliers, Intro/Outro buff windows, Forte Circuits, and breaking enemy Vibration Strength — not from Genshin-style Vaporize / Freeze reaction tables. An older draft of this page invented those reactions; this rewrite sticks to real systems.

Resonators deal Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, or Havoc damage. Enemies have Attribute resistances. Matching your DPS Attribute DMG% (echoes, sonatas) matters more than chasing fake “reaction recipes.”
Team drafting tips: Team Builder. Relative ATK/CRIT math: damage worksheet.
Concerto Energy fills as you fight (attacks, skills, dodges — kit-dependent). When the bar is ready, swap to trigger the leaving character's Outroand the entering character's Intro. Good teams are built around those handoffs (e.g. support Outro ATK / Heavy Attack amp into a Main DPS Intro window).
Moonlit Clouds and similar sonatas exist specifically to empower that Outro ATK handoff — see the Echoes guide.
Each resonator has a Forte Circuit — a unique resource or stance (stacks, bars, modes). Filling and spending Forte is usually where a kit's damage or utility spikes. Read the in-game Forte description; do not assume every character plays like a Genshin Normal Attack driver.
Bosses and elites have a Vibration Strength meter. Dealing enough stagger-type pressure breaks them into a vulnerable window. Heavy Attacks, certain skills, Liberations, and coordinated hits contribute differently by kit. Learn the break timing for Tower of Adversity and holograms — it matters more than inventing elemental reaction names.
Equipped echoes grant stats and a Cost 4 echo skill you can cast. Sonata set bonuses (2pc / 5pc) are the long-term build goal. Plan Cost 4/3/1 on the Echo Planner.
No. Do not use Genshin reaction guides here. Attribute damage and RES matter; combo systems are Intro/Outro/Forte/Vibration.
Three field resonators. Draft with role coverage (DPS + buffer/sub + heal/shield).
