Does pity carry over between banners?

Yes — within the same banner type. Character Event pity carries to the next Character Event; Light Cone pity carries to the next Light Cone Event; Standard stays on Standard. Types do not merge.

What is soft pity vs hard pity?

Hard pity is the guaranteed 5★ floor: 90 on Character/Standard, 80 on Light Cone. Soft pity is the ramp before that — rates rise sharply near the end (around pull 74 for characters, ~65 for Light Cones). Soft-pity ramps here are community estimates, not leaked HoYoverse code.

How does 50/50 work on character warps?

When you pull a 5★ on a Character Event, there is a 50% chance it is featured. If you lose, the next 5★ on any Character Event is guaranteed featured until you win.

How is the Light Cone banner different?

Hard pity at 80 pulls with a 75% featured rate on the first 5★ (not 50/50). Losing still grants a featured guarantee on the next Light Cone Event 5★.

How much Stellar Jade for a worst-case featured character?

Rough worst case: lose 50/50 (~90 pulls) then guarantee (~90 more) ≈ 180 pulls × 160 Jade = 28,800 Jade. Soft pity makes averages lower — many 5★ hits land in the 70–80 range.

Jade budgeting (rough)

One Special Pass costs 160 Stellar Jade. Hard pity alone is 90 × 160 = 14,400 Jade on Character / Standard, or 80 × 160 = 12,800 on Light Cone. Worst-case featured character (lose 50/50 then full second cycle) is about 180 pulls ≈ 28,800 Jade. Soft pity pulls averages down — many 5★ land in the 70–80 range — so treat hard-pity math as a ceiling, not a forecast.
